COMPETITION:
Online food ordering is expected to grow rapidly in the next years with an increasing appetite for organic and healthy food representing a major opportunity for the company.
Over 80k registered customers and a strong network of followers shows there is a real demand and the team is increasing the food makers' database to provide customers with further products.
Although other online marketplaces exist, the company has already over 600 food makers and the platform has developed search functionality to make it even more appealing.
There is insufficient information available to fairly rate this aspect of the business

Conclusion

The company is providing food makers with high visibility in a niche where there are no established players with substantial market share and this has helped to rapidly increase the number of product providers on the platform.

Yumbles has also achieved significant commercial traction in the last 12 months with over £1m in GMV while averaging close to 30% gross profit margin. Therefore, given current levels of traction, the opportunity seems real and the increasing number of corporate orders and the potential partnerships with major supermarkets could help gain significant brand awareness in the near future.

Online marketplaces are often valued at around 1 X GMV, which makes the company quite expensive now, however if they can achieve £10m in GMV investors could see a threefold increase in value, or higher if significant levels of profitability can also be achieved by then.
